3D Sound and video installation for 'Earthly Spirits', 2026
Sound on to hear part of the sound installation for 'Earthly Spirits', with images of sunlight flickering through hand blown glass.
In Crowcombe Parish Church in Somerset, a child was playing the piano, with a swallow circling and twittering high above his head.  The sounds are broadcast through 8 speakers placed on the floor and ceiling of the gallery, with swallows flying overhead and oak sap rising from the ground, creating the illusion of immersive, spherical sound.
The bubbling sound of oak sap rising was recorded in Argyll by John Wills/Positive Ambisonics. The swallow was recorded by Pinkie Maclure and the voices and piano were performed by Pinkie Maclure.
