The Well of the Star

One of a pair of windows made for the Smith Gallery in Stirling, this is an interpretation of the short story by 19C Scottish writer  Robert Bontine Cunninghame Graham, in which

 

"....he who sees the star reflected in the well, acquires again the ancient universal tongue, by which in ages past men and animals held speech.......................

but man cared not for such a gift."
